Lime at the foundation

  • Lime has been a major part of the construction process for centuries and still has a vast amount of uses within the civil field
  • One of its major uses is using lime as an additive in the 'fill drying' of construction sites
  • It is also used for ground stabilisation in roading, modification of existing road aggregate and other construction projects ilke bridges, canals, dams and buildings

Put your trust in lime

On the construction site, lime is:

  • Cost-effective: You can use sub-par fill and strenghten it to be built on, rather than having to remove it and bring in expensive quality fill
  • Protection: Lime reacts with clay-bearing soils and gravels, protecting them against shrinkage and swelling and hardening them through a complex cementing reaction
  • Efficient: Lime can speed up the construction process dramatically as it can be used to dry up saturated building sites and haul roads so work can progress
